1. Agafay Desert: off-road adventure just outside Marrakech
Just a few dozen kilometres from Marrakech, the Agafay Desert is probably one of the most accessible places to discover off-road riding in Morocco.
There are no vast sand dunes here like those found in the Sahara. Instead, the landscape is made up of rocky hills, plateaus, valleys and winding tracks stretching across the desert.
It is an ideal setting for a first off-road experience. The tracks allow you to quickly leave the main roads behind and discover landscapes that constantly change as you move through the desert.
Agafay is suitable for everything from a few hours of exploration to a full-day adventure. Depending on the pace and type of experience you are looking for, the area can be explored by electric mountain bike, electric off-road scooter or 4x4.

2. Lalla Takerkoust and the foothills of the Atlas Mountains
As you head towards the mountains, the landscape gradually changes.
Lake Lalla Takerkoust is a natural gateway to the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Around the lake and through the surrounding valleys, the tracks offer a wide variety of terrain: rocky paths, rolling hills, plateaus and small villages.
It is particularly well suited to E-Bike adventures, with routes that combine the enjoyment of riding with spectacular mountain views.

3. Ouarzazate and the Dades Valley: between tracks and desert landscapes
Further southeast, Morocco takes on another character.
Around Ouarzazate and throughout the Dades Valley, the landscape becomes increasingly arid and the mountains more dramatic. Roads wind through valleys surrounded by red rock formations, but it is often enough to leave the main road to find yourself back on the tracks.

And then there is the Sahara.
Around Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes, or further west towards Erg Chigaga, the landscape takes on an entirely different dimension. Vast desert spaces, towering dunes and an almost complete absence of landmarks create a sense of freedom that is difficult to find elsewhere.
